Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Holds High -Level Bilateral Meetings Ahead of Future Minerals Forum

His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim AlKhorayef, today held a series of high-level bilateral meetings with ministers from several countries participating in the fifth edition of the Future Minerals Forum, in the presence of His Excellency the Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Mining Affairs, Eng. Khalid Almudaifer. The Forum will commence on Tuesday in Riyadh under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

During his meeting with His Excellency the Minister of Mines and Energy of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Mr. Alexandre Silveira, Minister AlKhorayef discussed strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the mining and minerals sector, while highlighting key opportunities to develop joint mining investments.

In a separate meeting with the Federal Minister of Energy (Petroleum Division) of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Ali Pervaiz Malik, Minister Alkorayef explored avenues of expanding strategic partnership in the mining sector between both countries, particularly in mineral-based industries linked to enhancing food security.

The Saudi Minister also met with His Excellency the Minister of Solid Minerals Development of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Dele Alake. The meeting reviewed shared opportunities to advance cooperation and exchange technical expertise in the fields of mining and downstream industries, while highlighting Nigeria’s critical economic role in West Africa.

Minister Alkorayef's meeting with His Excellency the Minister of Mines of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mr. Louis Watum Kabamba, focused on exploring joint investment opportunities in the mining sector and on enabling the private sector to capitalize on these opportunities, thereby strengthening supply chains for strategic minerals.

In a related event, His Excellency held a bilateral meeting with the Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean at the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Hanan Balkhy. The discussions addressed areas of cooperation between the Kingdom and the Organization in pharmaceutical and vaccine manufacturing and their supply chains, contributing to global health security and reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as a strategic partner of the WHO and a promising regional hub for the pharmaceutical industry.

The fifth edition of the Future Minerals Forum will hold from 13th to 15th January 2026. The Forum serves as a leading global platform for dialogue on the future of the mining and minerals sectors. It also presents an opportunity for building effective partnerships between governments and the private sector, contributing to the growth and sustainability of the mining industry, while further cementing the Kingdom’s position as a global hub for mining and minerals.
