Ministry of Industry issues 31,000+ Certificates of Origin in April.

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issued 31,230 Certificates of Origin during April 2024, as part of its efforts to support and facilitate the service for exporters across various sectors, whether industrial, commercial, or individual.

A Certificate of Origin is a document that confirms that exported products are of national origin or have acquired the status of national origin. The service targets industrial establishments, commercial sector companies and institutions, and the individual sector, including farmers, fishermen, independent workers, local artisans, and others.

The certificate includes four types:

Certificate of Origin for national products for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

Certificate of Origin for national products for Arab countries.

Preferential Certificate of Origin (unified model) for GCC countries when exporting to countries and economic blocs with which free trade agreements exist.

Certificate of Origin in both Arabic and English for countries that do not grant preferential treatment (general model).

The Ministry clarified that applications for a Certificate of Origin can be submitted through its website at: https://coo.mim.gov.sa/
