Ministry Offers 11 Mining Sites for Competition
The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has announced the offering of 11 mining sites for competition, located within two mining complexes designated for sand, sub-base, and salt ores in the Riyadh and Eastern Province regions. The announcement comes as part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to enhance mining sector governance, stimulate quality investments, and develop local communities surrounding mining projects.
The Ministry's official spokesperson, Mr. Jarrah AlJarrah, clarified that the sites offered for competition include five locations within the Sand and sub-base ore Complex south of Al-Ha'ir in the Riyadh Region, covering a total area of 2.25 square kilometers, in addition to six sites within the Salt Ore complex at the Sabkhat of Umm Al-Shuraybat, Aba Al-Hamam, and Al-Mamlaha, South of Abqaiq in the Eastern Province, covering an area of 10.45 square kilometers.
AlJarrah noted that the application submission period extends from August 9 to 28, 2026, through the "Taadeen" digital platform, adding that the competition stages include a registration period, qualification of competitors, launch of the bidding process, and announcement of bidding results and winning companies.
It is worth noting that through the allocation and development of mining complexes, the Ministry seeks to encourage investment in the mining sector, elevate governance and transparency standards, protect mining sites from unauthorized encroachments, and develop the areas surrounding mining activity sites.
