His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef, announced that the value of the Kingdom's estimated mineral resources has increased by 90%, reaching the equivalent of 9.375 trillion riyals, compared to the estimated 5 trillion riyals announced in 2016. Alkhorayef emphasized that this increase reflects additional quantities, including new discoveries of rare earth elements and transition metals, in addition to significant increases in phosphate ore and other minerals such as copper, zinc, gold, and others. The increase also includes a reassessment of fair prices. His Excellency indicated that the announced results are the result of the efforts made over the past years in exploration and geological mining surveys, in addition to the significant efforts in issuing mineral exploration licenses, which have quadrupled over the past three years compared to the number of licenses during the six years preceding the issuance of the new Mining Investment Law. This law contributed to raising exploration spending from 70 riyals to 180 riyals per square kilometer, which confirms the feasibility of investing in mining exploration operations. The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources announced the completion of 30% of the geological survey work in the 700,000 square kilometer Arabian Shield region. The results will be available on the National Geological Database, with a volume estimated at more than 10 terabytes, to serve as an incentive for mining investment. The Geological Survey General Program initiative aims to improve the quality of data and the accuracy of geological maps to enhance and facilitate the exploration of mineral resources in the Kingdom and achieve optimal exploitation. This initiative will contribute to the development of the new mining investment system, making the mining sector the third pillar of national industry in the Kingdom, in accordance with the objectives of the comprehensive strategy for mining and mining industries and the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program.
His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, has launched the the "Future Industrialists" Initiative in the region during the Saudi Industry Forum "SIF 2026" in Jeddah. The initiative aims to serve as a bridge connecting students with the national industrial sector and to cultivate a generation that is well-informed about the Kingdom's industrial landscape, in the presence of His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industrial Affairs, Eng. Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salamah. The initiative comes as a strategic partnership between the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Education, the Emirate of Makkah Region, the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), and the Distinguished Initiatives Association. The "Future Industrialists" initiative in Makkah Region targets the enrollment of 25,000 male and female students, the participation of 1,000 students in the initiative's hackathon, the organization of three awareness events, reaching 5,000 visitors through the Senaei Platform, and achieving 100,000 volunteer hours. The initiative comprises four main tracks: the "Discover Our Factories" track, which introduces students to the work environment and industrial opportunities; the "Future Industrialists’ Hackathon" track, which stimulates innovation and the development of quality solutions; the "Senaei Platform" track, which attracts industry leaders to share their expertise with students; and the "Public Events" track, which raises community awareness of the importance of the industrial sector. The launch of the initiative marks an important step toward empowering emerging national talents and general education students, fostering their passion for the industrial sector, and connecting them with its promising opportunities — contributing to the preparation of a generation that will lead the future of Saudi industry and support the achievement of its targets.
The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has announced the activation of the "Know Your Industrial Journey" service on the Senaei digital platform. The service offers a comprehensive interactive digital experience enabling those interested in investing in the industrial sector to explore their investment journey — from project establishment through to production and export — while familiarizing them with the enablers provided by the industrial ecosystem at each stage. The service was announced on the sidelines of the "LEAP 2026" in Riyadh. It supports industrial investors in making informed investment decisions efficiently, raises their awareness of targeted industrial activities and products, and guides them through the stages a project undergoes from concept to production, expansion, and growth. The service also allows investors to select suitable locations for their industrial projects based on their chosen activity, and highlights the key services and enablers available at each stage of the investment journey — including advisory services, licenses, financing solutions, and industrial land. The roles of Saudi Arabia's industrial ecosystem entities are fully integrated to support investors across the entire value chain, encompassing legislative and regulatory frameworks, licensing, advisory services, financing solutions, industrial land, ready-made factories, and advanced infrastructure in industrial cities, through to export expansion and access to global markets. This is led by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources in collaboration with the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), the Saudi Industrial Development Fund, the Saudi Exports Development Authority, the National Industrial Development Center, and the Saudi Export-Import Bank. The National Industrial Strategy focuses on developing and localizing 12 industrial sub-sectors, including chemicals, automotive, aerospace, food industries, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, maritime industries, defense industries, mining, machinery and equipment, renewable energy, and construction materials. It also targets more than 800 industrial investment opportunities valued at one trillion riyals by 2035. The Ministries of Education and Industry and Mineral Resources have announced the launch of a School for Gifted Student in Advanced Industries in the city of Buraydah, Al-Qassim Region — marking the first specialized secondary school for advanced industries and future technologies in the Kingdom. The initiative aims to prepare a qualified national generation capable of leading the future of Saudi industry. The school represents an advanced educational model that integrates general education with specialized curricula in advanced industries and future technologies, within a comprehensive learning environment that bridges academic knowledge with practical application, in partnership with leading industrial and educational institutions. The school targets gifted students and equips them academically and practically through an educational program spanning all three years of secondary school. The program is built on project-based learning, specialized laboratories, student challenge-solving, field visits, and educational experiences linked to the industrial sector — enhancing students' readiness for higher education and the future job market. The school is scheduled to begin operations at the start of the academic year 1448/1449H. Instruction will be fully in-person, and the school will initially be dedicated to male students, with future plans to extend enrollment to female students and expand geographically across various regions of the Kingdom. Graduates will receive an accredited secondary school certificate alongside advanced specialized skills and professional certifications in fields related to industry and future technologies — strengthening their prospects for admission to leading universities locally and internationally, and supporting their readiness for the jobs of the future. The school will also support students' participation in local and international scientific competitions and olympiads. The school has been launched in partnership with a number of leading government entities, including the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), Qassim University, the National Curriculum Center, and the National Institute for Educational Professional Development.
