Saudi Arabia Strengthens Localization of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies in High-Level Meetings with Chinese Industry Leaders
His Excellency the Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef has conducted a series of high-level meetings with senior executives from major Chinese technology companies. The discussions focused on strategic opportunities to localize advanced industrial sectors within the Kingdom, with particular emphasis on semiconductor manufacturing, intelligent industrial control technologies, and advanced display systems.
The ministerial engagements included a meeting with the Chief Operating Officer of BOE Technology Group, a global leader in the manufacture of display and flexible screen technologies. The discussions centered on potential cooperation frameworks to support the company's strategic initiatives aimed at developing the display industry within Saudi Arabia, addressing growing local and regional market demand.
In a separate meeting, His Excellency engaged with the Chairman of Kyland, a specialist in intelligent industrial control and robust industrial networking solutions. Their dialogue explored prospective collaboration in the development of industrial network devices and advanced computing systems tailored to the Kingdom's industrial digitization goals. A key discussion was also held with the Chairman of Tsinghua Unigroup, one of China's foremost technology conglomerates, addressing comprehensive cooperation pathways to enhance the semiconductor industry and strengthen digital infrastructure capabilities within the Kingdom.
Throughout these meetings, His Excellency Alkhorayef detailed the competitive advantages of the Kingdom's investment landscape. He highlighted its strategic geographic position connecting three continents, abundant natural resources, competitive energy pricing, advanced logistical infrastructure, modern industrial cities, and streamlined government procedures designed to attract and facilitate high-quality investments in advanced technological sectors.
The visit climaxed with a major milestone as His Excellency the Minister witnessed over the signing of three memoranda of understanding between the National Industrial Development Cente and the respective Chinese entities. The agreements formalize collaborative intentions with BOE Technology Group in the field of advanced display technologies, with Kyland Technology in smart industrial control technologies, and with Tsinghua Unigroup pertaining to the semiconductor industry. These memoranda are strategically designed to accelerate the localization of these critical advanced industries within the Kingdom.
The meetings were attended by Eng. Saleh Al-Solami, CEO of the National Industrial Development Center, alongside a high level delegation from the industry and mineral resources ecosystem in Saudi Arabia.
